today i was at my attorenys office and was reading some of the law mags and papers. i came across a article about street racing. it stated that in the last 90 days of 2003 there was a nation wide crack down on street racing. at the end of the 90 days they added up disbatch calls and tickets plus accident. they stated that there are 3 states out of control with street racing .here they are in order

1.florida
2.cali
3.texas

gov bush stated that in florida alone in oct-dec 03 there were 41 thousand calls to local police departments about stree racing. alone 15 thousand came from the tri-county area( hillsborugh,pinllas ,pasco) the 3 state are pushing for a 3 strikes law for street racing.just like felons. and in pinellas and pasco will see SRIO (street racing inforcement officers)in 05 and they will have the cars and the funds to make a difference

Lets see the goddamn crime statistics that go with it and make those numbers look really tiny compared to the number of real crimes that are committed in this county and the criminals that pay standard court fees do a couple hours of community sevice and get back on the streets to have at it again. How about robbery? How many hosues are broken into on saturday night when the cops are out chasing people across the gandy bridge?

are you kidding? street racing is a crime that has more potential of hurting or killing some one than almost anything. you dont even think about this(or you dont care) every time you throttel it there are people all around you that want nothing to do with street racing and you are putting them in danger. yes accidents happen but i see no need to add one more factor to the equation and possiblly kill some one or there mother. save it for the track that way only people involved are at risk. i support stiffer sentancing and think you should lose your license rather that take someones life because you wanna haul ass.

 

How bout no I see more accidents from old people dumb teenagers or Drunk Drivers. Im not saying that I race all the time because I dont but what about people speeding or careless driving like talking on the cell phone i think thats retarded how they are making all these dumb laws about it. I know people have gotten killed street racing but people get killed doing other things too and i really dont think that it has more potential of killing someone than almost anything. I just think that the cops need to worry about other things then racing.

You guys have it all wrong. It's evident that nobody beats their wife anymore, or smokes crack before holding up 7-11's and nobody is stalking then raping people anymore. So why not go after the real hardcore guys out there. This is the last element of bad society.
