The T-53 ALREADY has the reduction gearbox, and is only about the size of a normal V8 engine, everyday rain should not be a problem, since they are flowin in the rain at several hundred mph in planes and slightly less than 200 mph in helos, I know the H-3 uses a splashguard for its intakes, but you would need some kind of cover anyhow to keep the debris from the road out of the engine. One small pebble kicked up into your intake would destroy the engine.

About the t-53 having the reduction gearbox, you had made that clear in a previous post. What threw me off was the fact that you later said that the tq tube would not handle the rpms. That's why i brought up the question.
And yes for an all out race car i'm sure one would HAVE to have a custom reinforced shaft of some type to bolt to the axle. It could get really expensive when you start twisting driveshafts/tq tubes like they were tooth picks, ha, ha.

Had a question about the ITT's. Under extreme fuel dump what could one do to try to keep things cooler inside the turbine? I know that n2o would not be logical but what about a compressed gas that is extremely cold, yet wouldn't affect the efficiency of the turbine if you where to directly inject the super cooled gas in the turbine?
Does that make sense or is it stupid day dreaming?

pull back the fuel..a turbine uses a CRAZY amount of air, I cannot even fathom the amount of N2O that would suffice..metahnol injection could work, I think older jet engines used to use that, do you really have 10-20 grand to spend on a surplus engine to use in a project?? Just curious.

Tony, i can see 10K, but 20K? What could things could one run into that would tack on another 10K.

T-53 or 58=6-7K
install and tuning 2-4K

Having the right person with the right knowledge would be priceless however. I gues i better not forget my MC.

No seriously how could it get up to 20K, not including a donor vehicle.

20k is probably a high estimate.
