Default DC Sports upper front strut ....

I have kind of a funny prob.... i have a dc sports upper front strut on my accord... and it squeaks...or kinda creaks around where it's bolted together. Could it be that it needs to be retightened? Anyone ever have a prob with this ?

it probably just needs to be tightened, i've had a nuespeed one on my car for about 6 years and never had a problem.

WD40 + suspension = bad.

WD40 is a solvent and will break down chassis grease. It will eliminate squeaking temporarily but it will probably come back again later and be worse.

Keep it away from ball joints, grease fitings, tie rod ends, control arm bushings, etc etc.

WD40 is a water displacer, not a solvent.

Read it in Hot Rod magazine, apparently its also a mild solvent. But they said WD40 dissolves grease and never ever use it on greased suspension components.

Also WD40 says right on the can:

"Cleans, Displaces Moisture, Penetrates, Lubricates and Protects."

Yeah that stuff definately works well as a cleaner/solvent. Used it many times to remove sticker boogers off various surfaces. Works very similar to gasoline for removing adhesives.
