junk yard car
IF I were to buy a junk yard car and want to make it my car ..... does the junk yard have the titles for cars? if they dont , how can i get a title? can i get a title? well thanks

You would have to do a title search and see if theres a lien on it and/or if the car is still able to be titled in FL. Most Junkyards dont buy the cars with titles because..well..there junk.

The junk yards have to have a title, certificate of destruction or a power of attorney for proof of ownership.
If they dont have any of the above they could get in deep dodo with the law.
Towing companies can apply for a title for lost or abandoned cars but its timely, expensive and they only do it for themselves.
I saw a company on the web that charges a few hundred dollars that will take the info and title it in a different state, then you can retitle it in Florida. Some states dont require you to have a title to get a replacement title.
You better check to make sure that the car doesnt have a lien or was stolen or you could end up being in trouble.

I've had a car hauled to a junkyard...needed to sign over the title. I've had 2 cars go to a repair shop, and they were going to send it to a junkyard, had to sign over the title in both cases.
