Does anybody think it is a good idea to drive around in one? I am not talking about a z28 or ss or rs or any models just like that just a 6 cyl with a ls1 or a 350 ram jet (i'll have to look more into them later).

But is there anything else that could be sacrified (sp?) besides comfort and being able to get new parts.

how is my question vague? What else should I add? I found a camaro with a 350 (im going to take out due to bad mpg) for 7500. I mean if i put aftermarket brakes on and a new motor and still got to find what tranny maybe a richmond 6 speed. What else could go wrong?

 

and I wouldn't have to worry about smog laws and probably seat belt because I would be grandfathered in??

that's what i was looking for. yes, if i had the money. i would do that.

 

But what I wanted to get was the downside of it. Yes I want to use it for a car that is going to get about 100 miles a week on it. Just going to school can use my truck for other things.

But can anybody name the downside of this? There has to be some.

 

Vague isn't the word. What are you trying to have in the end? If you are tring to have a car which gets good gas milage build a turbo four banger. If you are trying to have a nice muscle car, don't worry about the milage and MAN up to the pump. Now if you are trying the retro thing with a newer style motor then cool. Put a LS1 motor in it and a manual transmission in it. There are endless companies out there who sell parts to upgrade Camaros.

You need to have a plan for what you want in the end. Do your research first before you put down $7500 for a car you are going to tear apart.

and also the ls1 gets about 17mpg city doesn't it ? I know the zo6 vette gets REALLY good gas mileage for having that much hp
