Default ideas?

i finally got enough money to buy a car i got 16k i am interested in the e36 m3 94+ i was looking on ebay and in autotrader and they are all very high mileage.

my question is. I would feel more comfortable buying a car where i know they have replacement engines and it can be easily done
do they still make e36 m3 motors?

thanks a lot

You can always get a replacement motor a brand new crate or used from a wreck but for a car like that they're gonna make you pay out the ass for something like that. Why did you pick a BMW? To rotate the tires is gonna be like $500

...and god forbid you wanna modify it get go fast goodies:o :o :o

how does $2000 for injectors sound?:o

....ever notice that 94+ is around 10 years old now??..... conservative average mileage is 15k/yr .....thats 150,000 ~ miles on the car you want......why dont you take that $16k and use it as a down payment on a new car???

and you can find totalled newer M3's and use thier engines......but i highly doubt you'd be swapping an M3

$16K - buy a Porsche 911 - 1987 to 1989 - much easier to do the maintenance on - the engines are more durable than the M3 engines - not unheard of to get 250,000 miles from a well cared 3.2 flat 6. Course, I don't know your age - the insurance might kill you - but it would probably kill you for an M3 too!

Ijust picked up a new daily driver with 36k pampered miles, flawless, showroom condition, all options but t-tops, 1998 Z28 M6 for a good price. If I wanted to spend $16k on it it would have a stroker motor plus all the trimmings and put down 500+ rwhp instead of only 300.

And then have nightmares every night knowing you will have to eventually open that hood and work on it

I'm not a big bwm fanatic, but have heard numerious times that its very very expensive to modify. If you are interested in upgradign and modifying your new car maybe get some prices on aftermarket parts.

If you are looking for speed and style, how about a FD Rx7, or Mk4 Supra, but they will not offer you the extra space a m3 would.

Happy Hunting!

There is a lot of nice shit you can get for $15K including a nice used porsche as was mentioned by g50.

Don't go squandering it on a decade old superbeemer. Save that shit for when you arn't in school anymore and have a good job.
