Default '98 Z28 vs. '98 GT

What do you think is better? (Faster, more reliable, better looking, more potential, etc.)

98 is the best year for camaros cause that was the first year for the ls1, 98 was the slowest year for the mustang unless it was a cobra. Id say go with 98 + Camaro / TA, or a 99+ mustang.

The Z is faster. As for the rest i have a Z-28 so i would say the Z but mustangs have all the aftermarket you could ever wont. The LS1 motor that is in the 98 camaro is a great motor. I will one day get rid of my LT1 Z for a LS1.

I know of a stock 98 GT that beat you. As for Mustangs the 98 GT's are alittle faster than the 96,97's GT's cause they have 10hp more. The problem with 96-98 is the heads. If you want some decent power out of these cars the heads should be swaped for some p.i. (99 and newer) or aftermarket heads. They respond very well to mods and are very smooth running engines. My vote would be for a 96-98 4v cobra. You should go test drive one of each and see which one you like best I personally dont like driving a F-body but others do.

98 is the slowest year for the ls1 too. but it'd still win.

and there have been several 01 and 02 z28's that have been known to hit 12's in stock trim.

i'd say the ls1 has the most potential
