my family has had 8 hondas, 2 of them mine
summary:
78 accord, 81 accord, 89 Accord (210k miles), 92 civic hatch (120k mi?), 96 Civic HX, 98 Civic LX, 00 Civic Si, 99 Integra LS
ALL of em were perfect for as long as we owned them. no probs whatsoever. The next new car i buy WILL be a Honda, no question.
fords--- had 4 they were all pretty good (2-explorers, ranger, taurus)
vw--- good luck so far, but random misc. little problems from poor quality control (mexico built). But the car is fun enough to overshadow the little problems. (98 gti vr6)
mitsubishi--- decent until recently, started goin downhill after 100k miles. seems like alot, but then ive had mostly new cars
nissan--- parents had em back in the 80's, pretty much crap back then at least (sentra or stanza, and a pulsar nx-bleh)
peugeot--- yes my parents had one and yes it was the biggest hunk of shit ever (505 Wagon)

Toyota truck = love this truck 335k miles and only major problem was the oil pump started to go out recently
Ford's
Pinto = bad car caught on fire
95 Mustang GT = good car ran low 13's w/ very few mods and was beat on daily untill 125k miles when I replaced engine
98 Mustang GT = most reliable car I have owned so far but I baby it unlike every other vehicle I have owned(also still under 30k miles so dont have much to compare with).

2 Porsche's C2 and 911 - well - excellent engineering - nuf said the "Super" car you can actually afford.
2 mitsubishi's - minor stuff - Montero Sport that had alignment problems
2 Acuras - reliable as hell - 3.2 TL ran like a banshee
2 Ford Taurus's - Beat the hell out them - brakes - that's all
Alfa Romeo - Sexy as hell but $1K everytime you took it in. The Porsche is easier to fix...
Honda Civic - Problem free
Toyota Truck - Problem free
Honda Accord - Problem Free
Jetta - POS - cold as hell AC

ive owned mostly Fords....the only complaints i have are--- the quick disconects on the a/c leak which lead to costly repairs, alternators on the older fords SUCK!. and the occational rattle and hum. but i beat the hell out of all of them.
I had a mitsubishi mirage and it was basicaly CRAP. 4 transmissions, the timing belt broke, two a/c compressors but i did get 184k miles out of it. finally spun a rod bearing and i sold it for $500 still running and cold air.

Current:
'01 325i - by far the best car I've ever owned and I don't baby it either.
'02 Trailblazer - the mechanics can't even fix a spring that squeeks. Other than that, nice truck I think. Gets the job done.
Not current but not old:
'00 Mazda Millenia - nice dependable car, but CD player went when using burnt CDs with label. Cheezy!
'01 Firebird - total POS. More noises by 30k miles than 50 pigs playing in mud. Plus windows broke just as warranty expired.
'99 Dodge Ram - nice, but too many rattles by end of 3 years.
'95 Ranger - nice dependable truck with the exception of open door sensor, which was a total PITA. Only misgiving though.
Various Mitsus - nice dependable cars.
And in no particular order:
'79 Cadillac Coupe D - dependable but AC was broke
'82 Ford Escort - very dependable car (got me from OH to FL on $33 of gas)
'79 Toyota Corolla - dependable but inside was POS
'84 (I think) Ford EXP - total POS
'82 Mustang - good car
'77 Dodge Diplomat - very dependable once you figured out it ran better on 5 cyls than 6.
'80 Monte Carlo - 305 was smoking built 318s all day long
'76 Cutlass Salon - my first baby, ran like a champ until I blew the motor. Replaced that then snapped the frame a coupla years later. Gave her a good burial.
Various other cars too, but these are all I can think of. General rule of thumb for me - American cars = OK. Japanese cars = Better. German = no comparison.

76 Toyota Corolla - Indestructable - Great car for a 16 year old beginner driver.
75 Toyota Celica - Indestrucable and Fast - Crazy mods and very fun (see pic below)
82 Honda VF750S - Great Indestrucable Bike - My only transportation for eight years while I put over 60,000 miles on it. With the exception of K&N Filters, Kerker Header, Rejetting and one clutch I never had to do anything else to it.
87 GMC Jimmy - Great Running Rust Bucket - This vehicle did me well for a few years after I graduated from college and travelled around mexico but it starting turning into a pile of rust a couple years after I bought it.
87 Porsche 930 - Amazing Vehicle - Only needed one clutch and lots of tires and brakes during the last 90K miles. Still looks like new when I wash and detail it. It will hopefully be the last sports car I ever own.
