Damn this is an old thread. So what car did you get?

 

Kinda funny Daveyfx, since The Escort ZX2 didn't come out until 1998 Ford uses VCT, Honda is VTEC, Toyota is VVT-I Who cares they all have some version of it. The only thing I don't like about the new 2.3 Focus motor is that if it senses the emissions are too high it won't start. Makes aftermarket exhausts kinda hard

Also look at insurance costs for each vehicle. The Focus is a little cheaper than most usually in FL.

Congrats on the new car, i think u shouldve got the sentra se-r spec v. for under 20,000 fully loaded with a 6 speed its not that bad of a deal
