Ford Warranty is worthless
Took my car into the dealership for the transmission problems this car has been plagued with.
A little bit of history the original tranny blew the 1/2 shift fork that needed the recall work. The service writer at the time said drive it until it breaks. There was no TSB issued at that time. So I did and when it broke it lunched the entire tranny by chewing up the broken shift fork.
Ford replaced it with a rebuilt 3650 from Mexico. The thing had a horrible vibration at interstate speeds from the day they installed it. I took it back in and the suspension changes were blammed for the problem although the suspension had no problems with the original transmission.
Moving on to present the tranny devloped a leak out of the tailshaft of the transmission. No doubt a results of the excessive vibration of the transmission. Now Ford refuses to correct the problem and have voided my engine/drivetrain warranty due to aftermarket parts. So I'm stuck with a bad transmission they installed. They are now blaming the driveshaft or possibly the suspension/coilovers as the possible culperate. Or might be a pinion angle problem. Grasping at straws I'd say. As I mentioned before none of this was a problem until THEY replaced the tranny with the rebuilt unit.
My question to you guys is where to go from here. I really wouldn't be that pissed that they denied to do further work on the car but the fact they stuck a bad tranny in the car to start with and then leave me to foot the bill to correct there problem really peaves me.
Am I stuck with my own out of pocket expense or is there someone at Ford I should contact to see if they can approve another repair for the car? I also have a platium warranty on the car that is totally worthless is there a way to recoupe this money since it was never used? Thanks guys.

Seems to me you need to sit down with the service manager and tell him what you just types about the sevice writer saying to drive it until it breaks and then the subsequent rebuilt tranny that they installed is junk.
Be nice, you catch more flies with honey than shit. If it still does not work then get ugly, tell them you will be contacting a family attorney, a "friend" at a local news station, and will go out of your way to cost them far more business that what the repiar will be on your tranny.
Most of all I would contact a different dealer to see if you warranty really is voided.

Jeff, do you know anyone who works at Ford/Lincoln/Mercury dealer? If so, try to see if they can pull a few strings for you. Good luck.

Ahh another warrnaty horror story , my Fiance used to work for Ford warranties and you hates the fact she drives a ford now!(sorry it was dirt cheap for I got her) She has seen many screwed before!
I think that is a commonality with most vehicle manufacturers, regardless of make. Sometimes you'll get a dealer that will work with you on it, but most of the time they could give a rats ass.

Its the same story over at the Chevy dealer's service dept.
Moral I've learned: Buy a fully restored classic instead of a new car.

From my conversation with the service writer today it seems I have to deal with Ford directly since it's their field rep. who voided my engine/drivetrain warranty. Bascially if the dealer did the repair Ford would not reemburse them for the labor/parts.
No idea what I'm going to do. I certainly don't have $2k to drop on a tranny at this time. I'll give Ford a call but even the service manager said don't expect much cooperation from them. His words were "The Ford customer service department is less then helpful".

I think at this point in time you are almost out of luck. Letting it go this long only hurts your claim. Had you been really forceful when the tranny was installed you could've had a better chance, but waiting and trying to prove that the tranny was bad when they installed it is going to be tough.
