Frustrated with the Mach
ok.. so we went to sunshine last night.. track was semi ok. .no worse than i have seen at BMP on a thurs night.
i ran a best of 9.0@80 with a 2.0 60 ft.
Sure.. my launches could be alittl ebetter i guess.. and I have to hesitate ALOT to get it to go in third.. but why the hell am I down over half a second on my stock times ?
next issue.. i am almost positive that stupid JMS chip is causing me issues.. car feels slow.. even with the 4:30s.. i am going to get it redone by alocal place (Coastal or need4speed) and see if that fixes it.. otherwise i am yanking it.. so far the most useless $310 i have spent on the car)
and finally.. the fucking tranny/clutch.. now i am getting a loud noise on deceleration.. it sounds almost EXACTLY like the clutch chatter i had when the clutch went out on the WRX.. like a piece of tin ratelling under the car.. right at where the tranny is.... still having a major triple snick and grind into 2nd.. and last night i had to pause for almost half a second to get it into third (they.. that could be where my half second is in the 8th?.. lol.. but wheres my 3 mph?)
so i guess its off to ford this week to see if they can fix the tranny/clutch problems..i am hoping they dont look at my mods.. and the fact that i have been to the track a couple of times and decide not to look at it.. that woudl REALLY piss me off as i still consider the car to be making close to stock power levels (hell only 5 HP more than chris put down stock).... it shouldnt be having clutch tranny issues at 6K miles..
Grrr.. why cant I get a Ford thats not busted in some way.. do they make non busted cars anymore ?.. no wonder financial anylists predict their bankruptcy within the next 9 months.

Clean the cars under carriage really well befor you take it to the dealer and you should be alright. As for the clutch upgrade it as soon as you can. Other than that take it to the track as much as you can and practice, practice, practice.

I second getting it done at Need 4 Speed - they've worked on everyone of my cars and are great. Sometimes they are a bit slow on labor- but if you are getting it dyno tuned and have it scheduled you'll have no worries.
Honestly, mail order chips are pretty hard to get right.....get it done on the dyno and you'll be much happier.

i know i need practice.. but the issues just dont seem to stop with these cars.. i've been reading alot lately on diff ford forums about the HUGE number of oissues with mustangs.. and its starting to depress me.. maybe I shoulda got the Sti.. or even gottan an SRT4.. be just as fast.. without the tranny issues.. i am really dissapointed in this tranny.. at first you all said it was me.. well its not.. tons of other guys are having the same issues.. hell there is even a proposal for a class action suit against Ford over the TR 3650.

Sorry you're upset - there are a lot of people with probs with that tranny on the Corral that I've read about.....
I would maybe see if a custom chip will help you out first before you ditch it.
Your car is still pretty new too - they gain power as they get broken in and your times will get better with practice.

yeah.. but i ran a 13.5@104 stock.. after all themods.. i am running 9.0@80 in the 8th.. thats a low 14s time.. lol.. something is just not right..
on Coastal Dynos mustang dyno.. it put down 265 HP stock.. a week or so ago it put down 252 (1st pass was 232) and was losing major power after 5000 RPM.
Grrr this shit pisses me off.

I dunno what to tell you Zate, but I would look at the chip first. I guess I just got lucky with my tranny because it's doing fine still. I hope this doesn't sour you though, I've never had any major problems with any of the 5 Fords I've owned.

Zate sell ASAP ,buy an LS1!!! Zate is right my Fiance worked for Ford warrnties and the tranny was the #1 issue with complaints. Zate next time we are out get with her and she will give you the low down! Her team used to get pissed because they always got these calls! lol!
