Need help please quick..
My freind mike has a 88 5.0L mustang and is not sure why his car idles like shit. We adjusted the tps, I think that what it was I dont know alot about this car. But He did spray cleaner in the throttle body and the car ran smooth and nice so were not sure if its the throttle body that has a leak in it or what. Like were the plate goes? any other things to check? We checked the ecu and its a code 22 (MAP) sensor was bad but he replaced it with a new one. The tps thing we adjusted tested fine WOT is suppose to be 4.84 and closed I dont even remember? Does anyone know what or any help on this please?

Well the TPS closed should be less than 1 volt.
Two other things to clean would be the EGR valve and Idle Speed Motor. Those things have a habit of getting dirty and screwing up the idle. Just tell him to get some intake cleaner from the auto parts store, take the pieces off, and spray them down really good.

put tps at .99 , and check the IAC ... it is that big round thing by the throttle body.............. they get gummed up.... that controls all of the idle air of the car....... the TB does not controll the idle.............
