Supercharger Question..

Default Supercharger Question..

ok.. so lets say i have been offered a EAtom M112 off of a 03 Cobra pretty cheaply... and intend to run about 8 psi (stock 03 Cobra boost) initially..

What else Am I going to need do you think ?

IC? - i am assuming i'll need all the intercooler stuff from the 03 aswell?
injectors ? (been offered stock 03 Cobra ones)
throttle body + plenum ? (stock 03 Cobra)
MAF from stock 03 Cobra..

how would i do engine/fuel control ?.. just redo my JMS chip

what else ?

I hear the Cobra fuel tank/pump is a good swap if you decide to build it up and run more boost. Sounds like someone is getting a KB

Intercooler/lower intake, all associated lines for the intercooler, front accesory blower bracket with all associated pullies, mass air(stock 03 or aftermarket), throttle body, power pipe/inlet tube, injectors, 03 Cobra pump.fuel tank(best fuel system for a returnless setup), bottom end(eventually).....I'm sure there some other little odds and ends I am forgettting.

ok.. can get

SC (4500 miles @ 10-12 psi.. not tooo bad)
injectors
TB
boost bypass
MAF

for about $800-900

I think i'll need to shop around for the IC stuff/upper intake

thinking of KB Boost-A-Pump instead of 03 Cobra fuel pump...

bottom end will come later.. just run small boost right now...

what about pullies (as in all the ones on the front.. not just the upper)?.. and belt ?

Is the induction set up similar or will you lose the shaker hood?

Also, are the Cobras coming from the factory with the same compression as your motor? I thought the higher compression was one of the limiting factors in running much more than 6lbs.

Is the IC setup on a Lightning the same? Might give you another source to look at for parts.

He won't lose the shaker, he can just do this.



The Mach1 does have more compression though, it's 10:1 compared to the Cobras 8.5:1

yeah.. maybe its just easier to not worry about it at all.. Allthough $800 for the Sc and some extra stuff is a great price.....

Is that the CDC car Chris ?.. with the whole engine swap ?

I'm all about power adders, I just wonder if you are really starting with the right car (Mach 1 vs. GT). The Mach 1 is so nice just the way it is. I bet is you added it up you would find it is pretty expensive to throw a roots style blower on it. From a money conservation viewpoint, wouldn't a 150 shot be the cheapest way for some nut busting power?

Are the mod motors interchangeable? Why not a 5.4 w/ 4 valve heads? Is that swap not possible?
