CHP motors...

aka Coast High Performance, has anyone ever dealt with them before or know anything about them? i was looking at there 347 shotblock.

All I know is that they're very popular. I suggest asking on Stangnet.com and Corral.net if you haven't.

Have herd good stuff from Coast. I have a 347 kit from DSS, i havnt had any complaints yet. The whole engine might be for sale here next week or 2, thinkin bout gettin 03 cobra... if any 1 is interested drop me a Pm. Im just not sure i wanna sell it yet, is all if i do decide to sell it, people who Pm me will have first dibs at it.

i really like the dss stuff but they tend to be expensive, and jeremy what happened?

Keith Craft makes good stuff. I have 2 friends with shortblocks from them with no issues.

Oh ordered a 331 long block from them for a customer. Told them no cam, but we wanted a 28 oz balancer and flywheel installed. it arrived, well guess what no balancer and flywheel but a nice comp xe 282 cam instead

. They sent us the correct balancer and flywheel. When we looked the motor over, when they clearanced the block they took way too much off that required and left shards of metal hanging still, didnt smooth it out, just left it sharp. When they did the main caps, they used a die grinder to flatten them out for the girdle, and used washers as spacers. They used 2 on all of them but 1. And used 1 on that. The girdle was acutally bending there and barely made contact with the main cap itself. Then at the time we didnt notice it, but the heads were for 351 bolts and they didnt install the head bushings for use on a 302.
