Street Fuel Cell: Foam or No Foam?
Do any of you guys run cells or know someone who does? This is for a mostly street application with some trips to the track. No bracket racing and no oval track or auto-x. Is foam really needed?
and- does anyone have one with a sender for sale?

Mars- No, a fuel cell is just an aftermarket gas tank. A non-production one. When dually guys put an auxillary 50 gal tank in the back, i guess that would be a cell. Its just a fancy name for a tank... like when all the little import kids call their wheels, rims.
Billy- thats the whole idea behind the foam.. to keep it from sloshing. But its more beneficial for oval track cars and auto-x to keep the fuel from sloshing around and upsetting the handeling or allowing the fuel to slosh away from the pickup. But in drag racing, all the fuel gets pinned to the back and stays there.. and thats what a sump is for.
Stuntman- the "advantages" of having no foam is the price (although not that much), maybe added weight, and if it breaks down after an extended period of time. I'm sure its engineered to last a while, but what if they only figure a cell will be used for 5 yrs and i keep one for 20?

Less Foam, More gas it can hold, we used to cheat on the 100 lappers at bradenton and remove half of the foam, every1 else had to pit twice we only had to pit once...
