Default looking for a place to get a 5.0 rebuilt

i have a 1986 vert that i to make an every day driver out of and i dont want to put a cage in it. that means that it cant run faster then a 14.0 at the track and i dont street race very often. so their is no need to do much to it.

so what im looking for is just a local place to rebuild a motor with high mileage.

Are you building something special or just a run of the mill motor. Panhandle Performance does some awesome work, but they are 'spensive.

my .02 cents....buy a new shortblock from Ford $1300. I seriously doubt you could rebuild an engine for less.

Do it yourself is the best way.

Are you rebuilding a motor with high mileage or did something get destroyed?

Summit sells a complete rebuild kit with forged pistons for $450. The hypereutectic piston kits are $270. Polish the crank, bore the block .30 over and get it magnafluxed for a couple hundred bucks. Put it together in a day.

Tell them I did not appreciate the large burnout ruts in the grass and they need to be more considerate to other peoples property.

Scott I apologize for that and ill tell her about it.

Yeah, I forget not everyone has garage space. Not sure where you live, but there is a little shop in Plant city that I deal with for some machine work and parts. Super Service in the parts store name, Plant City Machine is the shop name. 813-752-6173. I have only used their machine shop services, so I can't vouch for their build ups, but they have always been real straight forward and honest with me on the parts I have purchased.
