hello i just purchased a 99 ford escort zx2 and i wanted to know where i should start at as far as modifications to the car, i figured posting in the ford forum might get better or alot more info on what to do and where to get it done at.

 

well i'd check the motor mounts. they are known to go bad around 70k. if you have teh ztec jackson racing makes a supercharger that works on it. besides that i dunno. peformance wise look up stuff for the focus.

or drop a 302 in it lol.

i am looking into the exhasue now and intake so far i ogt a dynomax exhauset on order and a hotshot cold air intake on order and the urithane mother mounts but my car has only 35k miles on it

also i was under my hood lookigna t a few things and noticed that my throttle cable has too much slack is there any way i can tighten it up myslef , if so what do i need to do, or where to take it .

any local dealers u suggest for gettign parts then me ordering them form cali?

 

i get full throttle but when i tap the gas it severly jumps best way i can describe how it jups is like droping the cluch in 3rd at 5 k rpms

IF you need Ford parts (factory) I get them at cost + 10% where I work. That is on everythign from wiper blades to engines.
