shit id buy it, you cant get a 308 block, pistons, crank, rings, bearings yada yada, for less than that, even if you dont know who the engine builder is, you can take it appart and put it togther how you want it,

What are you really saving? A halfway decent rotating assembly for a 306 starts at $895 (D&D Motorsports). With the machine work, you might save $500, but you would have a shortblock built to your specs, done to your quality standards. I have seen many engines from builders that were assembled incorrectly, causing way more headaches down the road. If you can't afford to do it right the first time, how are you going to pay for it the second?

I'm not sure about that shortblock on Ebay. I would e-mail the seller and find out who is doing the machine work. Hell I would e-mail the seller and find out who he is??!! lol.... always good to know but not a bad deal if it is true. good luck.
