What kind of Helmet do i need?
I was looking at a HJC motorcycle helmet.
i was told by someone that you shouldnt use bike helmets, and that you need a car helmet.
is there any truth to this? i know that if the track sees a helmet, they let you go, but if they look CLOSE and see its a biek helmet, will they kick me out?
whats the rule?
BIKE OR CAR HELMET?

Snell 95 or something similar... as for car helmet's being dorky looking, buy a full faced helmet, that's what I use.
just kills me that people will dump mad $$$ into their cars, but will skimp on the safetey equip...
not saying that you are, but i think function would be the primary concern over looks...

For TnT I use my ATV helmet and they have never said anything about it. I don't think it matters that it's a motorcycle helmet or not but I think it's about the hardness of the helmet. There is a hardness rating that NHRA and IHRA have. -Mark

Not that this couldn't be totally wrong, but I have heard the argument made that bike helmets are designed for a single large impact, where as a car helmet is designed to protect your head as it bounces around and off your car.
That said, I would buy a Snell rated helmet. Most sanctioning bodies I have seen want the Snell rating and want it to be no more then two ratings old.
