I read quite a bit of posts and articles about choosing a catback for my 98... one thing that I ran across numerous times is the formula of:

X-Pipe - catback with Straight Thru muffler design

H-pipe - catback with offset muffler design

That was the main reason why I veered away from the Mac exhaust and went with Magnaflow with the Magnapacks. And as you can see from the pictures I posted.. can't get much straight through than that

 

that is what they say ...... i have ran an or h pipe with straight through and chambered exhaust.... it sounds good with both ..


but i hear the x pipe are pick as to which mufflers they'll sound good with

 

Wasn't just sound as I read it...
I was told a few times that if I didn't put a straight through muffler design on my car, that I would more than likely lose some of the gains that I got when I installed the X-pipe.

The description of the sound and the looks of the 4" magnaflows is what finally sold me though
