Based on pure power handling capability, I would lean towards the T-56. It seems you can build those things strong enough to take whatever you throw at it.

Not the 3550. If you are dead set on a 5 speed also give the TKO a shot. You can order it with shorter gears as well.

If money was no object, T-56 all the way.

Ford Racing Six speed??? I think its M-7003-H you should be able to look that up with ease I believe I read its rated @ 440lbs/ft. torque

I personally like the D&D Performance Viper T-56. Rated @ 550lbs/ft. torque
2.66 1st
1.78 2nd
1.30 3rd
1.1 4th
.74 5th
.50 6th

What do you like Scott??

G-Force..without a doubt! only if I had won the lotto, i'd have one right now...

Tremec's are solid, Mike (yellow 95gt) is putting about 500rwhp to one (don't know the torque), no issues.

T56 is not a tranny for drag racing. U want a tranny with a big first gear ratio. Scott if I were u I would get the TKO. It has a bigger input shaft and also I think tailshaft. They take a beating. First gear ratio of the TKO is 3.27 and with a 5th gear of .68 which isn't bad for cruising. With the TKO u have to change your clutch disk. -Mark
