Unless your motor is flowing some serious air I doubt that the motor is making power up that high and if you have a camshaft that will make power that high as well.
What are the motor specs, (intake, cam specs, etc). You'll have to have some serious durration in the cam to be making power at that rpm range...
Most likely you're just wearing your valve train out quicker..
Not flaming, but no need to beat up on your parts like that.

Of course, you'll never get it to stall that high without a trans brake, foot braking it will get you to about 2000-2200rpms..
i have the 3800 stall he speaks of in my C4 and on the foot brake i can get 2800-3000 out of it(stock tach)

though for me, you'd have to change it to 10 inches, and you'd have to change inches to millimeters, and you'd have to change 10 to 5 and you'd have to change dick to poor excuse for one.

that's suprising to me, most foot brakes won't hold that well.

298 durration?????? w/ 527 lift????? my cam is over .700 lift and is only around 270ish on the durration.. think you might have the wrong specs...
anywho....

converter will be too loose for the street, might work for a strip/street car, but with that stall you'll need to be making some power to use it..

I'd look for one that would better fit your combo. Give a local speed shop a call or one of the converter manufacturers..
