03 Cobra gets owned by RX7:::: video
Local guy picked up an 03 Cobra with a couple thousand miles on it (dealer show car), is modded with:
Lightening pulley, X-pipe, Magnaflow Cat-back, Diablosport chip, intake, and 4.10 gears.
Car ran 11.50's @ the track a few weeks ago.
We went from a 40 roll (still too slow for me to get traction as you'll see in the video, fishtailing in 2nd and 3rd...hahaha) But once I get planted in 3rd, get some traction, I walked him hard...

He has less than $5000 into it...
All in all the Cobra comes out about $10,000 more than the RX7 with the Mods.
The RX7 is only converted to single turbo, no exotic engine swaps or shit.

Ok, there's about 38k in the cobra. So, 38,000 - 10000 (price difference) - 5000 (mods to rx7 )= 23,000. (A dollar for dollar comparison of a new car vs a used car isn't all that fair)
A quick search (http://www.supercars.net/cars/1995@$Mazda@$RX-7g.html) shows that rx7's were more like 31k, so...
31k +5000 = 36,000.
And yeah, the RX7 still shines pretty bright over the Cobra, but it is running 17lbs of boost.. If the money on the cobra were spend a bit differently, (centrifugal blower instead of roots), I think things would end up vastly different.....
