Not at all done correctly with tuning i had 302hp at the wheels on a 100% stock focus engine for over 5000 VERY HARD miles

installed my built engine and my same turbo kit and took it to 328 and went to all 10 Fun Ford Events and was #1 qualifier at all of them that was about 80 passes just at those events and about 80 to 100 passes at the local 1/4 tracks as well as last month taking it to Virginia International Raceway and doing over 100 miles on the 3.2 mile road course and it is my every day driver

I have not had a chance to test it with the 435hp the tracks are closed here but i will soon in Orlando at the FFW coming up in March

Knowing the bottom ends are carefully crafted with paper mache in the Zetec, I hope your tuning lasts. There are far more failures than successes with that motor for me to ever want to touch one again. Good luck with your project and post some pics of it up when you get the chance.

the stock connecting rods from a ZX2 (same 2.0L Zetec) snap at 250hp... from what i read when i had my ZX2. soooooo i bet anything big done to a Focus is gonna require new rods.

And it should probably go without mention that one needs to upgrade to ARP bolts and studs everywhere.

Default Extremely disillusioned

With 435hp at the wheels with the zetec engine that 390hp wont be a problem with 328hp at the wheels i did 12.55 at 115mph on dot tires and weight was 2960

tom

Sorry Tom, you wouldnt stand a chance against that car no matter how much you turn your boost up. Traction issues can always be addressed and that engine will run 12's in stock form in the heavy mustang, what do you think it will do in the focus? The 390 h.p. you spoke of is nothing more than an insurance rating. That engine produces 425 horsepower all day long. How do you think the stock cars are dynoing 385 to the wheels right out of the showroom. All it takes is a pulley, exhaust and a gear and the car will lay down over 450 to the wheels and go damn near in the tens. You really should give credit where credit is due. I bet you wouldnt be as quick with your wallet as you are with your mouth if that car was lined up next to you at the strip.

I can run mid 12`s on DOT TIRES and 2960lbs and have seen a v8 focus in action they have more traction problems than the 4cyl does ,So throw all the HP to it you want to

At Houston Fun Ford Weekend went out with the true street class and finished 33 fastest out of 133 Mustangs

I can hold my own

Exh. Pulley,Gear, And again you didnt address any timing or fuel issues can you guys not do tuning or do you just like to up the boost just to see what will happen

We have done many 03 Cobras on my dyno if you change that pulley you better address timing and fuel,,And i dont mean no crappy 5th injector

Here is a few other places you can follow me around at
Myfordfocus.com
clubfocus.com
contour.org
zx2tuning.com
Focusfrenzy.com
if you need more let me know
