Default Rear wheel question 89 GT

I have the disc brake SN95 rear with the Fox axles. The wheel is a 15x8 Weld with a 5.5 bs. Tire is a 275/60 15 and its tight cause its a GT and the ground effects.

So my question is will a 15x10 Weld fit this car with the 6.5 BS? The car has the factory wheel tubs.

from what I have seen it depends on which tires as some 275's measure different not only in width but height also. Now the centerline of the tire will not change going to a 10" rim but the bulge on the tire will. A 8" rim will pull the sides a little more where as the 10" rim lets more of a flat sidewall if you know what I mean. Oh heck just get a bigger hammer also while your at it.

Top of the tire to where it goes in on the sides to the rim is more curved in on a 8" rim but as you widen the rim the side wall will be more of a 90* to the rim and this is the area you will have rub

So if the car sits low there will be an issue with the wider rims. I already had to trim the ground effects using a Prostar on a 15x8 5.5 BS. 275/60 MT and Hoosier.
Guess why I see a lot going to the 15x9.. but those are pricey

Is your car 5 lug? I have a set of 5 lug Champions with the dimension you inquiring about and they have asome 275/60 mickeys mounted on them. Only thing that may make them a tight fit will be the sn/95 brakes which pushes the wheels out some. Your more than welcome to bolt them on and test fit

If its fox width and I currently have the Prostars that are 15x8 on a 5.5 you think the 9 won't fit? Or should it have been 6.0 bs?

Nah.. that was my first problem. As it had SN95 axles with the Cobra R wheels.

I swapped to the Fox axles and John at All American handled modifying the brackets to move the calipers inward.

I just found out today.. no go on the 5.5 BS on the 15x9. Was easy.. called Weld and verified.

Bummer.. it was a great deal on the wheels..

J.
