2000 mustang transmission issues
Hey guys, im trying to help my nephew out in his first mustang, were having problems getting the car to drive . To give you a background about the car, it was purchased 3 weeks ago, we drove it to Melbourne fl no problem. On the way back to Tampa, I noticed a slight tranny slip. A day later, we try to start it up but the tranny wouldn't catch at all (giving gas would increase Rpm but car wouldn't move.), so we pit some Lucas in the tranny. It helped, but only for a day or so. We replaced the tranny filter and fluid (not complete flush) , with very little improvement. The car has a B&M hammer Shifter, not sure if that would matter. Car has a couple performance upgrades, but none for the tranny I believe. Im basically trying to figure out if we should just replace the tranny or not... Any input would be much appreciated. THANKS!

Ok, we went to a tranny shop, and they said it would cost about 400$the just to drop the tranny and look at it... idk if this is what you mean by diagnose. A cable adjustment sounds best, you reminded me, that every once in a while the car wont start and after I push the Shifter forward a little bit, it starts with no hesitation, almost as if its not going into park 100%.
