I've seen a few leather sets for sale over the past few months in super condition. I remember one set on CL for $400. I know that's not what you asked but maybe you can get entire set for less that a recover?

I had the front and back seat in my 65 Fury recovered for $350, unfortunately the guy I had do them is in jail right now. I'm hoping I can get both of these Fox seats done for under $250. I have a guy up north that will do them for $100 a seat but the shipping there and back doesnt make that very feasible.

The passenger seat is still in pretty good shape. The driver seat has a small wear spot on the lower edge. I'd just do the driver seat but I want both seats to match so both will need to be done. They just need to be recovered.

Thought I would ask around before I start thumbing through the yellow pages.

5.0 resto sells upolstery kits for you to do it yourself, seems like a pain in the ass though...... But if you buy them you might be able to get a shop to do the leg work

Thats an idea. I didnt know they sold them. I'll look into that. Thanks alot.
Do they have the leather kits or just the cloth? I'd do pleather as long as they match.

EDIT:

I just looked at what they have.
They can go pound sand before I pay $600 just for material.

LOL, i hear ya bro.... I didnt know they were that much. Wow....

However speaking though, I have seen some pretty shoddy upholstery, i mean the general design is there, but it looks kinda cheapish. How good are they is what i want to know, I dont have a problem paying that, but is it worth it?

You get what you pay for, Jim.

I know the upholstery game pretty well, considering, and for $100/seat - you're lucky to get them removed from the car and pay for the materials to reupholster them. Maybe in some shitty cloth that will wear out in about 12-16 months in the FL sun/heat. High end vinyl (leatherette's) or leather is going to run you some coin.

I've got a guy in Brooksville, but it's gonna be around $500-750 depending on what you want done & how fast.

There comes a point when getting what you pay for becomes paying too much and getting ripped off. If I was having custom work done then sure $600 - $700 for 2 bucket seats sounds fair. But I'm not. I'm having to stock seats recovered to look new again. I can buy like new seats for $200,.. no way I will ever pay $500 - 750 for a 3 hour job. My guy in Md charges me $100 a seat and will do them in any material he has in the shop. And he does show quality work. He done several cars for me.

These are for my 65 Fury. I had the front and rear seats plus the door panels done for $350. Not leather,.. but very close to the factory material and came out really good.

They dont have to pull any seats out of my car. The car is getting painted right now and I have the interior here at the house. I just want them recovered and I think $150 a seat is a fair price to pay. I'll buy new seats before I pay $600 to have these recovered.

I just know a guy has to get paid. It's all personal opinion - but if I spent $100 to recover a seat and it looked less than perfect, I'd feel like I wasted $100. I hate doing shit twice. I've learned that if I just ante up the first time - 1) I will not do it twice (which would end up costing the same anyway) and 2 - I get to enjoy a nicer ....whever it is I bought/did.

Thats where you and I differ. If the agreement was $100 for each seat to be recovered and it wasnt to my satisfaction, I would make him redo it or I wouldnt pay it. Its just 2 seats. $300 ($150 a seat) is more than enough for them to do the work and make their child support payments. Anyone who would pay more then that for stock replacement coverings has more money then they know what to do with or they just like to get bent over when paying for a service. It takes roughly 3 - 4 hours to do 2 seats. I've watched it done. Thats $75 - $100 an hour for time and material. If you want to pay more and feel like your getting your money's worth great. Not me,.. any more then that and I feel like I'm getting ripped off.

Like I said,.. my guy has done several of my cars (Seats and/or full interiors) and each time I was 100% satisfied. How ever Md is a bit of a drive to get upholstery done and would be very unpractical with the way gas prices are. If I dont find someone local to do it then I'll just find new seats. Cost will be about the same either way.
