To me its useless money spent, I mean, new diesels dont come with them, you just have to use common sense

Like what? By just letting the car sit at idle for a couple seconds before I shut it off?

Exactly....After beating on my turbo stuff, Id drive a liitte bit (no boost)to let it cool down, then let it idle for a minute so the oil doesnt coke up

I feel the timer is a waste of money too. The turbo will slow down when it is being driven in vacuum.
Who flogs a turbo car then immediately shuts it off? Better to spend your timer money towards a decent boost controller.
