Default Front brakes and wheel problem help

Bought an 89 GT. Has the tubular K member and has the Cobra brakes 5 lug. 90/10 lakewoods and 14-175's springs. Wheels currently on the car are the Cobra R's 17's.

Here's where it goes south.. I want to install these Weld prostars I bought assumming they fit .. the problem is wheels hit calipers.. and stick out hitting the fender .

What is the solution to running prostars on an 89 Mustang.

What size tires on 3.5 welds. I beleive the answer is a 165r15.

Based on what I can gather the control arms are of different lengths on the 87-93 and 94-04. And there seems to be an issue with the the spindles of the 94-95 era and the 96-04.

So my question what do I need.. brakes, spindles, and control arms.. to use Prostar 3.5 wheels on my 89 Mustang Without going the Aerospace/Strange/?? $800+ deal. How can I tell what control arms I have?

Thanks guys.. always something.. Always learning..

Sticking out could be the K-member, A-arms, or/and spindles. What year spindles where used and what brand K-member?
Pics of arms would help. Sounds like you have SN95 spindles

Its all tubular. Its black if that helps

How can I tell what spindles I have? When the rotors where pulled off it had a reluctor on the back. Guess 98+? Brake calipers say "COBRA"

Since I didnt make the conversion.. I have the slightest idea whats on it.

A QA-1 k-member sets the wheels out 1 inch and forward 1 inch, i have spindles off of a 95 mustang with the dual aluminum calipers and i have to use a 1/2 inch spacer to clear the brakes. Post a pic of the k-member.

The tires for a 3.5 rim are 165sr15 or 165/80r15 same tire size.

Sounds like a Qa1 with SN-95 spindles...this brand moves the wheels out and forward.

Sleeping again?

And if you have 96-04 that's another 1/4 on each side, adds up quick

If this looks like yours, you can buy a-arms that are shorter.
