How much do you think a set would cost if its already had the work done to them?

Is there a perfect set of parts ( 500hplx ) said "Matched to the right combo and a power adder, they will make enough power to break a stock block!"
You speak of cam, intake manifolds, and headers when you say THE RIGHT COMBO??

Does anyone know how much it costs to machine heads?
What parts would I be looking at to buy?

Maybe I need to try to find another set already done the work to em.

Well when I look to set up a combo, I start with how big is the motor? OK here it is a 302. Heads, GT40 P likley flows around X cfm at X lift. So then match a cam with that flow and a power band in the rshared_pm range I want to run. Intake will vary somewhat (NA or forced induction).

I ran P heads w/ a "mild" Comps XE264HR. .512 lift was right at where the P's flowed at their max. Idle and vacuum were great. I orginally had a 93 Cobra intake and it all matched up perfect. For a mild DD combo it was hard to beat.

Then I got greedy and added a short runner intake and the Novi and things were never the same. It had throttle response like a damn bike then.

On your heads, what valves, springs, rockers and rods did you end up using?
Ok Im understanding the idea of combos now, thanks!

WOuld you suggest ford racings F cam a good match for P heads? stock heads?

What headers do you run? I heard Ford Racing headers fit the spark plug placement.

They came with stainless 1.94 intakes and 1.58 exhaust, dual springs for .550 lift cam. I cant remember the spring rates but they matched the Comps cam I decided to run perfect. It has Cam Dynamics 1.6 roller rockers, stock push rods, Ford replacement roller lifters and a Cloyes timing chain. Cam is installed straight up.

The F cam is a good all around cam. I think the Ford cams have mild ramp rates. That is why they match up to the so, so springs Ford Racing uses on their heads. I like the Comp Cams XE roller series better.

I ran Ford Racing stailnless headers. They fit, but I still cant use a socket and ratchet to change the plugs. I use the socket and a wrench. A couple are always a PIA.
