Default I'm thinking that driving the PR5 is screwing with me...

Driving both to and from the track it seems like there is a helluva lot of play in the steering wheel of my Cobra.. I'm not sure if it is driving the PR5 that is causing me to think this way or there is something wrong with the front end.

I just had the alignment done a few months back and it really hasn't seen much driving in the past month or so...

Anyone want to give me a 2nd opinion?

I think you are just use to the tighter, more responsive steering feel of the PR5. I have the same problem going from the Focus to any Mustang. The steering just feels so vague and loose in comparison.

Part of it is the rubber rag joint in the steering shaft. You could replace it with a nice one from flaming river that has needle bearings... That will definitely remove some of the play.

By the way how are you liking the PR5 ? I am thinking about getting either that or the 5 door SVT Focus for my wife.
I'm liking filling it up once every two weeks with regular unleaded

Actually it really is a nice little car.. it's comfortable (much more so than the ZX3 I test drove.. don't know about the ZX5 tho) and it's pretty responsive. My only two complaints so far is that the Sport Trannsmission really isn't all that economical since there isn't an overdrive (still getting 27MPG tho) and that I still haven't figured out a "windows/moonroof open" combination that doesn't tie my hair in knots (hairbag that I am).

That's what I kinda figured... I knew it was loose to begin with.. now I can feel exactly how much

That'll more than likely be thrown into the list of things I change along with the suspension.... thanks!
