Got to start small, but who knows down the road

Anyway, the 427ci started its build yesterday at QMP Racing in Chatsworth and should be done today. Yesterday was mainly machining (decking, honing, adding lifter bushings, etc) and today will be the assembly. Engine dyno will take place after PRI.

Here are some cell phone shots from Jeff, the guy there filming the install

The 427 made 1030HP and 873 lb/ft of torque on 16 psi Friday on the engine dyno.

Piece of shit carbs and blow thru's make no power and can't compete with EFI ! What a crock of shit that obviously is. Good job little brother.

My piece of crap blow thru 306 on 19 lbs of boost made 732 hp / 891 tq to the wheels on Sam's dyno ! So what's that, probably almost 1000 hp and 1200 tq at the motor after drive train loss? By the way I have run it on the street at 26 lbs but not the dyno and the difference between 19lbs and 26lbs was retarded seeing how I had finally got into the efficiency range of my big turbo. So at 26lbs of boost what was I making 1000 hp / 1200 tq to the wheels ? lol So watch out for my brothers 427, it is going to make a shitload more than what he is making now ! lol ( stupid blow thru's )

As far as efi being far superior ? Or carbs are for amateurs, I am going to chalk that up to the uninformed. If I had a dollar for every time certain efi cars in here broke down or had "tune issues " I could afford to give a crap. Can efi cars be made silky smooth ? Sure, if that is in your goal. Can carb cars be made silky smooth ? Sure, if that is in your goal.

Sorry for the highjack bro, one can only read enough verbal diarrhea from the armchair QB's before having to say something.

The carb ran 11.7 -12.1:1 on the dyno and performed flawlessly everytime we upped the boost.

Let's also keep in mind this is a pump gas, hydraulic roller motor that is only spinning 6200 RPM

Your motor is making about 900 to the crank if it put down 732 to the tires.

That would be about 15% so that's right. Off on my math. lol I have not tried pump gas yet because I was told to break it in on leaded for the rings. I wonder how close our hydraulic cams are ?

My a/f was about the same, it has been a while so I can't remember for sure., I was not willing to lean it out more at the time. Perhaps I will try to soon.

Decide on a trans yet ?
