Did you replace the filter at the same time? If not replace it and I would purge the lines from the filter forward while the lines are disconnected

No I didn't replace the filter but I did pull it out and seen that clean fuel was coming out so I put it back in. I did purge it and clean fuel comes out of the fuel lines just before the rails so I think I'm good now. Just need to get them parts to replace along with the filter too.

rust from the old tank all up in the injectors causing lean backfire. or ecu not firing injectors. hook a noid light to the injector connecters to see if the injectors are firing. a test light might work.

Update: so I swapped in a stock rail, fpr, and injectors. In order for me to crank it up I need to either spray some starting fluid or stuff a rag with gas on it. Once craked up it will stay on but the backfiring still continues if I gas it a little. If I give it too much gas it will backfire and die out unless I let go of the gas pedal. My next move will be a distributor and see if it helps out. Uggghhh

double check firing order, pull up #1 to TDC and see if the distributor is in right..
