There are some speacialty tools you need when doing trans work...if you dont have access to them, it would be cheaper to have it built. I can get them refreshed for $500 and I know the kit is like $130 at Dacco

Exactly, what clutches, what steels, what bands, what moifications are they going to make..... There are a few things that need to be done to a C4 so they will last a reasonable amount of time.....

I built mine myself bought a video and a couple tools. hat a trans shop press in a couple bushings.performed oiling modifications, put in some roller bearings, performance clutches and steels. I think alto red and koleen steels cant remember. put a better servo that I had on another trans I had(I bought several before I decided to do it myself)lying around.I had around 5 or 6 hundred in the rebuild. but now I own the tools and I did it a hundred here and a hundred there so it did not break me. I did everything in the video. and it works kick ass. I want to add a manual valve body but it works great now with a shift kit in it. I also found the original problem that I was having
