question please help.
I have a 96 gt mustang and I want to pull out all the emissions crap out of the car. I already pulled the cats out. Just want to know if i can pull out the charcol canister out and all the vacume lines out that have to deal with the egr and emissions. If Im able to take this stuff out and the car wont have any running issues please give me the info. I just want to clean up the engine and the engine bay. thanks

I wouldnt pull the charcoal canister unless you enjoy smeeeling like gas all the time. Maybe move it, to clean things up, but dont delete it IMO. It pulls fumes from the tank and burns them back through the motor
You can remove it all. Cap off the EGR port etc etc.
You 'may' experience some idle issues where the RPM's hang a little longer than normal when coming down from higher RPM's. You may smell raw gas from time to time with the cannister removed. You will also lose about 2 - 3 mpg in the process. Will also take longer to warm up and go into closed loop during cooler weather.
The idle issue can be tweaked by inserting a washer the same diameter with a 1/4" hole in between the IAC and the upper plenum. Depending on the thickness,. you may have to grind the washer down in order to seal the IAC,.. or just modify a larger washer to the shape of the IAC connection. This restricts the air signal and helps bring the RPMs down quicker. As for the MPG loss,.. keep your foot out of it to compensate.
