With the 5.0 cars they use non ported GT40(p) heads and Cobra or Explorer intakes. Cubic inch is limited as well as total lift on the cams. Amazing times for stock-ish heads and intakes.

They are purpose built race cars. Not much is "stock" but it does give an idea of what the heads and intakes can support in non-ported form.

I do know some of these motors are pushing over 12 to 1 comp on stock heads and pistons.

Porting is prohibited on the heads and intake. The rules are in the link.

They can shim-sham with the bore, stroke and rod length a little as long as they don't go over the max ci. Only dish or flat top pistons allowed so with an offset ground crank and milling of the heads the compression can vary. Nothing factory stock about the rotating assemblies.
Whatever they do....... F/S 5.0's with un-ported cobra intakes/GT40 heads run high tens.
