hurst shift problems

Default hurst shift problems

My Fox has a C4 and a Hurst shifter, If i set the cable to be in park it wont go all the way to 1st but if i set it to be in first i dont have park.

Anyone have experince with this problem?

You need to use a shorter, or, shorten the shift arm on the transmission. Either that, or there is too much slop in the cable/linkage that its not 'crisp' enough to throw it all the way into gear.

thanks thats what i was thinking, im going to double check the cable and its adjustment then if i have to get a diffrent shifter arm.

Do you know the measurment of the arm ? as in Center to Center distance of the holes ?

You should adjust the shifter while in the neutral position, not park.

Was it a shifter for a C-4? I always disconnect linkage at trans, put lever in low and adjust the cable to fit. install cable then put in park and disconnect and check trans linkage to verify park. If you have to move it from there is would be very minimal.

yes its made for the c4, ive adjusted it in both P and N, but I picked up a new bracket that is designed for this today. Once my VB kit gets in ill swap it out.
