Default Door latch mechanism - 1990 coupe

Anyone familiar with the door latch mechanism on a 90 fox body? I've got the door panel off and noted that there are three rods (four counting the short arm for the power lock acctuator) running to the latch. I am not sure if I need to detach these first or if they will dis-engage when I unscrew the latch from the door frame.

Can the mechanism be re-conditioned? The door will not lock. I figure something is frozen up. Should I save my time and find another door with a working latch?

Thanks.

Mike

it's usually just the actuator frozen up. you can pop out the rivets holding it in and your lock will probably work fine. pretty common mustang issue.

Got a set of actuators. I'll try that first. Thanks.
