So heres the question, does anyone feel like doing the favor of measuring the width of the engine bay on a fox? Like from the inner most part of the shock tower inside the engine bay?

Putting a jet engine in one?

 

No, a friend of mine wants to put a mod motor in his S13, and I was just curious how much wider the fox's engine bay is that the Nissan's. Since I know you can swap a mod in a fox, I figured I'd try to findout for him.

the 4.6 SOHC is a pretty wide motor and a DOHC is pretty fucking huge, its wider than big block. I think a SOHC could fit, but I really doubt a DOHC will fit into a nissan . You are better off getting the dimensions for the motor itself, which I know there is a pic posted up somewhere on the internet with the motor dimensions of the pushrod and mod motors.

I dont trust the mod motor dimensions. Im pretty sure the 4.6 dohc is wider than the SOHC

 

Thanks for the Move Mars. Yeah I don't see how the 16v and 32v motor could be the same width. And the other reason he wanted to go 4.6 was because of weight but I guess if those figures are right he might as well try a 5.0 with some aluminum heads.
