Not all 5.4's came with a forged crank. All lightnings yes but some in your standard F250's/150's didn't.

 

I edited my post above to reflect the info coming to the surface here. Every 5.4 motor I had my hands in had a steel crank, and I was told they all did, but that may not be the case. Good to know.

I have the non-lightning 5.4 in my GT and it may not have forged internals, but it does have an amazing amount of torque, it's a grea swap no matter how you look at it. If you're getting hooked up by the truck owner, i highly reccomend it.

 

so the f250 5.4 is the same as the f150 5.4 then?, that was my original question:lol

im picking the motor up tonight, gonna take some pics and stuff and ill post em up
