Default squeak/screetching noise

hey guys i need some of your input.i just recently changed out my engine in the coupe. i have a bad metal on metal sound from under the car.not the engine.its coming from around the trans area.check all the usual b.s.heres the run down.i resused the clutch and throw out bearing, new poilt bearing, trans full of oil,and nothing rubbing underneath.the noise stops when i come to a stop.think it my be throw out bearing, but i would figure it would make the noise moving or not.if i shut down the engine and coast the noise is still there.clutch pedal depressed or not still the noise.everything was fine until i changed out the engine.i am going to pull the trans out friday and c if its anything i can see.or could it be somthing in the trans.i sounds like a dry ball bearing spining.either way i am pulling it out,but i figured i would ask, mybe one off you guys have had this issue before.

Hurst! got any ideas?

IIRC, the TOB only makes noise with the clutch not depressed. If everything underneath looks good then it's probably in the tranny with the luck that comes along with this stuff.. You and I had that conversation haha

Depends how fucked it is. My first TOB that came apart in my hands after dropping the tranny would screech CONSTANTLY. Clutch in, clutch out, it didn't care - it just changed the tone of screech.

Its the throw out bearing. My first GT did the same shit to me when I first bought it. Replaced it, no more noise. Good luck Harold!

checked brakes, wheel bearings for shits and giggleys.but it is coming from the trans area.i had my gf drive while i listen to it.its screaming like a little whore.it only makes the noise when the car is rolling, running or not.goes away as soon as i stop the car.thats what puzzles me the most.i would have figure the throw out bearing would make the noise all the time.

Any exhaust against the driveshaft anywere? If its raising that much hell, I'd but on the TOB also. Cant believe anyone would install a used one, they are too cheap to buy new

how can it be the tob if he shuts the car down and it still makes the noise ?lol it's prolly something hitting the driveshaft. TOB makes noise only if the car is running. You might need to have someone in the car when yoou look under it . If you jack it up everything might look ok

nothing rubbing on the exhaust, checked that.all i did is swap the motor.i didn"t replace anything clutch wise because it was close to new.i sprayed pb blaster at the TOB,and it didn"t make any diffrence, but if it didn"t get in to the bearings it won"t have helped much any ways.
