sorry for the typo's, i was in my phone.

I know I'm being vague with this topic so I'll give some details. I hate to say this but the car will be used for drifting. I am well aware that I can do a turbo setup and be fine but I would like more response rather than more power if thst makes sense. I have driven both na and boosted cars (turbo) and I like the na feel and response over a boost setup any day of the week. I also enjoy a lot of "back road" driving as well.

As I said before, I'm not expecting huge numbers but if I could get to around 400whp that would be awesome. I really don't see why I couldn't do so. It's just hard to find info on the topic as most inline fours go for a turbo because of cost and peak power. The Honda crowd has been doing a lot of supercharger setups and they have been getting into the high 300whp range.

I'll also add that I've been thinking of doing this over a lsx swap. I figured this could be a fun thing thing to pioneer a little and perhaps give someone else motivation. Worst case, it doesn't do what I want and if thst happens then I'll just sell it.

Your going to want to go with a positive displacement blower then. Maybe something could be fabed up to use a eaton M112. That would have no problem making 400 whp.

I've actually been wanting to use a m112 if I went roots. I don't really know about intercooling them though? Anyone have info on this?

There are a few drift setups that hae done compound setups and have had great results but that isn't really practical for a car that would be driven to and from the track and maybe some see some street driving as well.

I found a m112 for around $600 bucks....what are these things going for? Anything I should be looking for if I do go this route?

the m112 would make great power but it would take a lot to get it going. a few guys have made adapter to put them on 3.8 v6 mustangs but say that the dont get the same response that they did with the m90 on the bottom end... lost some bottom and picked up in the middle and top

Is there any reason a Kenne Bell hasn't enterred into this conversation yet? My 6 psi KB hits 320rwtq rigth off of idle and keeps it all they way through 6500 on the 4.6.
I will say that KB is very hard to deal with on a customer service level though.

Let clear something up. I'm not expecting a lot of torque in the 2500 rshared_pm range. If I have power aroun 4k then that would be what I'm looking for. 4k is early enough for me to use the car fir some grip driving. I also think that a 4 cylinder making those numbers would put way to much stress on the shortblock that early.

The m90 may be the better choice as the m112 will flow enough at 2500 to make very good power on a 4.6. It may be to much for a 2.4.

Be a man and slap an M122 on that bitch! Seriously though, a K20A2 with an M90 can make 340whp with stock compression and IPS blower cams. I know it has more RPM than the KA could dream of but Im sure you could get close to that and have a flat TQ curve from damn near idle to redline. Have you considered an SR with a roots blower? You could get the big RPM of the K series, RWD, and its a bolt-in swap!
