Default Expedition theft light issue

My brothers ford expedition just went crazy and nothing seems to be helping the issue. The car was shut off normally, now two months ago and when he went to start it the next morning the theft light was flashing and the car wouldn't start up. Reading various forums the issue seems to be the PATS anti theft system not allow the fuel pump to "pass gas". We have tried a couple of "tricks" and nothing has seemed to work. Anyone on TR have any ideas. A locksmith and alarm guy said it can't be bypassed once armed. A ford tuner said he thinks he can reprogram the system for $200. And ford wants $1600 to replace the system and keys. Thanks in advance.

efi unlimited. you can contact him through genium performance on here under the shop forums. He can fix it quickly and for a fair price. The dealerships will rob you.

Just so you or anyone else wants to know... The PATS system can be disabled. Alarm installers do it all the time when installing remote start alarm systems.

Yes it does. I had it done on my 2005 Limited Excursion. When they put in my remote start system, the said they would have to bypass the PATS. I was like hell yeah, cheaper blanks.
