Default what to do, what to do

ok mazda went boom, check sig. so im saving up for a new car.

my top 2 are
1999-2004 mustang gt

or fc rx7

now im posting this in a ford forum bc im leaning towards the ford side and wanted some info on the stang.

o and a half decent turbo 2 rx7 will run me about 4-5 k, so y not just buy a gt for 5k?

anyways. what are some common and basic mods for the 4.6?
i wanna get i/h/e first then what? where could i get an aftermarket cam and such.

i wanna leave this tuner world asap....lol

(screw honda's)

Cams are expensive... exhaust, gears and a power adder.

Holy shit man. Fucking sucks about your last car. Cams on the mod motors are expensive as hell. Theyll give you pretty good gains but it doesnt justify the price until you have most of the other bolt ons. Any reputable supercharger company can get you a reliable kit. If your gonna go with a centri then I would get one thats self contained so its less of a hassle and you dont have to worry about running oil lines from your pan. Kenne Bell positive displacement blowers work pretty well too. I would see if you could find someone with similar mods that your looking for and see if you can get a ride. Its a whole different world from the rice. Here, you just hit the gas and regardless of RPM the ride takes off like a bat out of hell. At least the supercharged ones. Mod motors are known for their lack of low RPM grunt. I went from a mild 5.0 with probably 200-220 hp or so and it felt quite a bit stronger in lower rpms than my current 260hp GT. I also had 3.55 gears in it though. First choice for mods though on a 99-04 GT that will get you the best seat of the pants though is swapping the rear ends gears out for something in the range of 3.73's to 4.10's. Hope this helps.

Most centr. superchargers have went to supplied oil and thats the only way I would own one. Reason being is to keep them cooler and positive pressure of oil vs an oil slinger and a couple pints that gets extremely hot.

I wish you luck with that. If you can find a 99-04 GT in decent shape for $5K, my hat's off.

^ is a nice roller (Cabuss' 91 GT).

As aforementioned, best mods for the 4.6L will be gears, headers + h-pipe, and a power adder!

My uncle & cousin have an '01 Cobra (4.6L DOHC) with a Vortech on it, and it's freaking awesome. But not sure that something to that effect will be in your budget or not.
