Default GT500 - ridiculous markup

I've been in the market for a new GT500, looked at the 09's and decided that the 2010's are just a much better buy. I have yet to see one in lot, but the 09's I did see had a ridiculous 20k "market adjustment" tacked onto the price of the car. The car is fantastic and all but I am not paying a nearly 50% over sticker for a car thats going to be last yrs model really soon. Anyone know of any dealers that don't charge a super ridiculous "market adjustment" or atleast any that have a 2010 GT500 in stock so I can take a look in person.

You can wait about 2 years when they are having touble giving those away.

The GT500 markup is bullshit. MSRP should be between 42k and 50k and when these idiot dealers mark them up another 20k it puts them solidly in the territory where the Z06 and Viper are and people look at it like this. Hmm, I can get a car with 500hp that weighs almost two tons or I can get a car that has 550-600hp and weighs 3000lbs. It puts them in a market where they cant compete at all.

I can understand why they would mark them up because its a GT500 and all but, its still just a fucking car.

I know .... I was talking to the salesman today and he was saying the 2010's will be marked up 100% so the cars will cost 101K OTD . Even at 20k markup you can get a z06/viper in that price range and NOT pay a ridiculous markup. The whole idea of me even looking at a GT500 is that it's a really good bang for the buck (if you can pull one at anywhere close to sticker). They are now willing to cut a deal on 09's since they want to get rid of them... but whatever I will goto other dealers if not I will just wait. No way in hell I am paying 101k for a car that should cost no more than 50k well optioned. I can get a damn CTS-V for alot less (which is nearly as fast) or a ZR1! lol....manufactures need to step it up and kick dealers in the balls (they are costing them sales).

On another note... I really love the new mustangs they have definitely stepped it up in terms of interior quality, body fitment and just quality overall. Not so sure I'll settle for a GT though :\ especially considering it's not much if any faster than my Z (was looking for a upgrade).

I hate stealerships

I am of the opinion that if they are willing to blatantly gouge me on a GT500, whats to say they are not going to rip me off on a F150?
The Bullitt was just a option for the GT and they still tried to crush you with markup.

Last time I was at a Ford dealership to buy a truck, they ran me right to the Toyota dealership where I purchased a vehicle.

It's funny you mention the bullitt markup because I went to the dealer to check those out and it was the same experience. Same with the 05 GT's .... I guess Ford dealerships are pretty adamant about market adjusting there cars prices out of the market .

I was able to get the Market Addendum removed when I purchased my SVT-Focus back in the day. Only because I had bought 4 cars from that very lot in recent years.

They get away with the markup because there are people willing to pay the markup. If the market wasnt there,.. they could not sell the car at those prices. Obviously they are moving those cars at ridiculous prices,.. else they wouldnt be turning away reasonable offer's to make the sale.

So the car sells for what the market will bare. The market commands the price. Sadly,.. that is the case.
