Where are you doing the work?

A AOD is a big heavy pig working under a car on jack stands. I know!

I like shifting gears.

Go 5-speed!

I would go with the 5 speed as IMO they are just more fun to drive. You might be looking to spend slightly more then 450 if your going to go from an auto to a stick as you will need not just the tranny, but also the 3 pedal setup, clutch cable, bellhousing, shifter fork, flywheel, and clutch.

5 speeds typically are a lot better at cruising speeds than autos just because they have higher top gear ratios. A c6 is a 3 speed non-OD auto they used to put in heavy duty trucks and behind bigger engines in cars.
