You keep saying strong and V-6 in the same breath. You don't need strong in your car. You need cheap to go along with college student. Get the cheapest one if you feel you MUST upgrade your 7.5. Have you broken the 7.5 yet? If not, then it is all you need. Back in my catamaran racing days we had a saying...If it breaks too often, it's too weak. If it never breaks, it is too heavy. "Expensive" should come in there somewhere but we always seemed to ignore that part of it.

Eaton and Detroit are both aftermarket manufacturers for differentials. You really dont need anything that fancy under your car. Get a used GT rear end. It should bolt right up.

How about you quit being a dumbshit and listen to us when we tell you that you don't need an 8.8 with your V-6. You keep telling us how you don't have much money. Keep your current rear end and you will have more money. Yeah, there may be some V-6's out there that are pretty quick. Is your's one of them? With no money, are you going to up the power to the point where you need an 8.8? I don't see anywhere in my post where I gave you shit because your car was slow. Show me. I've got a 4 banger I'm putting together. I'll give you a chance to walk me with your quick v-6 when you get it finished. Just let me know. I'm a glutton for punishment.
But, in the meantime, let me reiterate, you don't need to waste your money on an 8.8 swap.

As far as anything else goes. If you get a used 8.8 from a GT its not so much a bad idea because you can find them for decent prices if you look hard enough. Dirt is right though. You dont need it. It would be a good idea if you were prepping your chassis for serious engine mods or upgrades in the near future but thats unlikely. My friend used to hang out with a guy at UCF who had a 04 V6 stang and he was running low 13's on nitrous with the 7.5 and his was doing just fine. You just cant hook the shit out of it with slicks on it if you plan on racing at some point.
