Default Question about powerstroke's

Let's say I wanted to build a F-250 for drag racing.

First and foremost which year should i start off with (in regards to the best motor)

Second how easy is it to work on these things? I'm used to working on 240's haha.

Any input would be awesome.

Now, this is really quite simple, ok? Understeer works like this; you drive down the road, turn the wheel, but the car goes straight on, crashes into a tree and you die. Oversteer works like this: you drive down the same bit of road, turn the wheel, but the back of the car comes round like this, and you go off the road, crash into a tree and you die. Now, oversteer is best, because you don't see the tree that kills you.

I know many that has had Ford diesels...6.0 and 7.3's. The ones that have owned both prefer to have the 7.3's, suppose to the more durable of the 2. I personally crammed 30+ pounds to an 06' F-250 4x4 4 door with 5" exhaust, cold air intake and a controller with no issues what so ever. As far as how hard to work on them...I couldnt tell you I had 100,000 mile warranty that I never had to use and traded it in.
1/2 of 03' the finished using the 7.3's and switched to the 6.0.

I'm just going by what my former super used to tell me about the later 7.3's. He has a 2001. Starting in either 99 or 2000,.. they all had forged rotating assembly,. 2003 was the last year and was not forged. So either 99 or 2000 up to 2002 are supposed to be the most desirable in that regard. He claims he's making 900hp on his at 80psi. Me personally,.. I am not up to date on the diesels.

I owned a 93 turbo 7.3 back in 96,.. the first year for the turbo diesel. I loved the truck,.. but mine was an auto and back then you had the push button for OD and OD kept going out in mine. Went out 3 times in 8 months. With no OD you tach out almost 2800 rpm at 45 mph. My old truck wouldnt do more then 70 even with OD,.. wasnt geared for it. But it would pull a house and average 19 mpg doing it.

tommy, my uncle has a 06 2500 HD with the 5.9 cummins, only thing he has is a 5" Borla exhaust, BullyDog chip, and a small shot of propane. at 70mph it will walk sideways without hesitation. the straight 6 turbo disels are no joke.

I have the Powerstorke 6.0L and it has more horsepower stock over the 7.3. As for reliability, well from the factory, the 6.0 does suck ass compared to the 7.3. Keyword, from the factory, If you delete the EGR with a sneeky pipe and drop a set ARP headstuds, that 6.0L will not give you much issues after that, there are the common FICM issues or the HPOP that seem to give us 6.0 owners issues, but for a truck that can go a couple hundred thousand miles with a decent upkeep, they are well worth there weight in gold. And that goes for any powerstroke. Hell, diesel engines combined.

And Stealthmode, as for the cummins they are great engines, too bad they put them in shitbox trucks. I killed a 5.9 cummi with my 6.0L Powerstroke.

And also my truck happens to be an excursion, 10K lb vehicle.
