Turbo AWD '32 Ford Coupe
the water pump is a water pump. its mounted there cause you couldnt mount it to the front with the blower there. the oil pump is the thing there driven off the belts.

flatheads use 2 water pumps stock. One on each bank of cylinders (the V8 was derived from the old flathead 4 cylinder). Obviously there's no room for 2 water pumps in the front, much less one, so he routed it through the freeze plugs on the side of the block. Hell, there may be another water pump on the other side.
Its irrelevant, because that badass looking motor probably makes 300hp. Its basically 8 old lawnmower motors that share a crank. The old saying is flatheads are the most efficient way to create noise and smoke without the annoying side effect of horsepower.

Im not too familiar with it. I read something about it in Hot Rod a couple of years ago. There was some guys a while back that used to like using nostalgia stuff and hot rod the shit out of it. They liked using flatheads like that one. That particular one I believe is pushing over 20 psi I want to say and puts out around 500hp. Not too shabby for an engine design from the 30's.
edit. my mistake. I cant seem to find any documentation on where I saw the 500 hp flathead. I dont have any info on the one I posted. Still 300 hp isnt bad for a flathead either.
