Ray, seen this before on the return. When the line went bad it seperated on the inside and restricted flow. Outside looked perfect, couldnt of never noticed by outside appearence. Im referring to the line at the front of car

Copied this from another forum

if the fuel can't return to the tank becasue of a kinked or plugged line, the fuel pump will bypass internally and maintain whatever pressure that happens to be in the line.

As stated these pumps will easily pump that

What the hell, change out the TFI module. You know how freaky they can be,not to mention they will shut off the fuel.I recently had a wierd problem on a van(5.0) ,it actually filled most of the cylinders with raw gas and would not even turn over un til I took out all the plugs! You could hear the fuel pump continue to run with the ignition to on and not running. The computer was changed out to a spare(always have a spare) and has since run fine.Talk about seafoam! This motor is clean inside!
